Now that we are well into 2014 … how are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions? While you planned out your exercise goals for the year, did you remember to include a routine for your face?
Everyone can benefit from doing facial exercises. Those who have had injections and more invasive procedures may be skeptical in believing that exercise can rival or even replace these procedures. But it’s TRUE. It’s SCIENCE. Once the muscles begin to enjoy the benefit of isometric and concentric contractions, you will begin to see that your skin looks and acts younger while your features lift and tighten. Droopy foreheads, tired, diminished eyes, crow’s feet, sagging cheeks, jowls, double chin…you can help all of these issues on your own by exercise.
Facial exercise can produce visible and long lasting results, and really change the shape and contour of your face. There’s only one catch. You have to make a real commitment in order for these techniques to work. The muscles in your face work exactly the same as the muscles in the rest of your body. You can’t expect to see results if you aren’t consistent. The good news is, Facial exercise techniques require only a few seconds each day. The best way to learn how to perform the exercises is to learn them two at a time and practice them every day in a row. So today we are going to provide you with your first set. We tried taking photos of ourselves performing the exercises but they looked like still shots from a Hitchcock film. So, we opted for something much cuter.
Two very simple, yet very effective exercises:
Target Area: Neck & Jawline
Sit in a comfortable chair and look up at the ceiling. Pucker your lips and stick your tongue out as far as possible to exercise your neck muscles. Hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times.
Target Area: Eyebrows & Forehead
Raise your eyebrows as high as you can and hold them for five seconds. Repeat 10 times.
