Most people are excited for the April showers to end and the May flowers to start blooming…except you. If you’re a seasonal allergy sufferer, the sight of fresh green grass, bluebells, daffodils and tulips brings tears to your eyes—quite literally. Puffy, red eyes, itchy red skin and an irritated nose are all signs of pesky seasonal allergies. So it’s important to change up your skincare for seasonal allergies! Because, besides the discomfort and annoyance of a runny nose and all that itching, your appearance suffers, too.
Don’t worry. We don’t think you’re vain. Here are a few tips to minimize the signs of seasonal allergies.
Calm Your Skin
Choose a moisturizer or serum that will protect your skin and soothe dryness. We love Nuvsio Mineral Enriched Balm Concentrate (which is why we carry it).
De-Puff Your Eyes
You’re an allergy sufferer, you deserve a bit of a rest. Lie down and put cold cucumber slices over your eyes or cooled chamomile tea bags. In a hurry, apply eye cream (to protect sensitive skin) then use an ice cube on the skin around your eyes to instantly depuff eyes and minimize redness.
Conceal
The last step is to hide any residual redness with makeup. Get yourself a good concealer and cover up redness around your nose and undereye circles. But, be gentle and don’t overdo it. A little redness is better than an inch of caked on makeup—especially on your sensitive skin!
By the way, our Freeze Facial is quite soothing. Our rose water, oxygen infusion will reinvigorate your complexion and microcurrent treatments help with puffy eyes by encouraging drainage!
